Function1 Guidance was founded by Maria Faherty in 2011. Maria is a Teacher, Trainer and Guidance Counsellor with over two decades of experience in Education and Career Guidance. She takes a down-to-earth, personalised approach, working closely with post-primary students to explore their interests, strengths and aspirations. By recognising each student’s individual strengths and ambitions, Maria will empower them to pursue career paths where they can flourish, excel and genuinely love what they do.
Based in Donegal, Function1 Guidance supports students across the North-West of Ireland. Maria combines a strong background in education and guidance counselling with a genuine commitment to helping every student make informed decisions about their future. Her approach is professional, confidential and tailored to each individual, ensuring students feel supported and confident as they plan their next steps.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance [University of Ulster]
- Postgraduate Diploma in Management in Education [Trinity College Dublin]
Accreditations:
- Member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC)
- Registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland
- Certificate of Competence in Occupational/Psychometric Testing Level A/Level B (British Psychological Society)
- ECDL Expert Certification
